Sinus Rinse And The Benefits

Why sinus rinse you may ask. Washing (rinsing) your sinus may not be the first thing you think of as part of your grooming routine. When you consider the benefits of using a sinus rinse, you may consider adding it to your routine.

Like any other part of your body, during the night and day you sinus get dirty; they pick up contaminates. Having these contaminates in your sinus could cause irritation – which is one of the reasons I started to use a sinus rinse myself.

Why sinus rinse?

It could be that you have a blocked nose. It could be that you’re getting a blocked nose because of some contaminates – for example, contaminates such as pollen.

In this case, nasal rinse (also known as nasal irrigation) is a good way to clear out those contaminates – and help clear some of the blockages.

I started using a sinus rinse because I was getting blocked noses. My doctor recommended this to me and since starting I’ve continued and never looked back.

I find that it, firstly, gives me a fresh feeling to my nasal passages. I also find that my smell senses are always a little better after clearing them with a sinus rinse.

The sinus rinse washes out those contaminates, washes out that mucus and just leaves you feeling fresh.

What should I use to rinse my sinus

Personally I use a kit. You should be rinsing your sinus out with a saline solution ideally – and there are a number of kits out there which include a mix power to add to water.

Personally, I use a premix kit by NeilMed. If you would like to see what kit I personally use then it is this one – NeilMed Sinugator Cordless Pulsating Nasal Wash Kit If you’re in the US Or NeilMed Sinugator Cordless Pulsating Nasal Wash Kitfor UK.

I find that their pre-mix worked brilliant. It’s a simple task of just adding it to water – then using the tool to spray this into your nose.

There is a technique to it – you need to have you head at a 45ish degree angle as you want the wash to go up one nasal passage and out through the other – cleaning away the contaminates on its way through.

There are some great instructions with the kit tell you how to do this.

There is also a great article on WebMD on how to do nasal irrigation. This gives some great info on how to do this.

Is it safe to wash your sinus?

In my case I was recommended to do this by the doctor. It has proven safe and of benefit to me. However, if you would like to read more – here is a great article on sinus rinse to go through.

This article gives you some great info and explains their recommendation on how to rinse your sinus safely.

I would not stop now

Personally, after doing this for around 6 months now daily – I could not stop this daily grooming activity. It makes me feel fresh. It has, at least for me, improved my nasal feeling.

Where I had lots of stuffy noses in the past; I personally have far less now. It can seem a little disgusting at times where you do have a lot of mucus – but once your nose is cleared it feel so much better and fresher.

I recommend this and I am sure that once you try it, you will too.

I've spent many years looking, learning and trying all sorts of hair and body health and stying. I wanted to share what I've learned through this page as well as open and create a discussion on techniques that may be better than I use now.
